The  Coventry Cycling Club offers social and competitive cycling activities for all ages including time trials, road races, hillclimbs, cyclocross, family rides, social, events.

During the winter you can come along to our Wednesday club night for a chat or indoor turbo training session.

Sunday Morning Club Run

Check the web site regulary for the scheduled Sunday morning club runs. Clubs runs normally meet at 10.00 am. Meeting point will confirmed on the web site. A normal ride can be 15-20 miles upwards with a tea/coffee break

Turbo Training Ends Until Autumn

The last turbo training session is 28th March then starts again mid September. Date will be confirmed on the web site.

 

Turbo training has proved very popular this season and has moved into the sports hall to provide us with more space.  New members are always welcome.

 

Club Hill Climb 2011 -  Burton Dassett and Edge Hill

The Club held its annual hill climb on Sunday 16th October. Well done to Kevin Jeffs who won with an overall time of 6.26.30.

Southam Triathlon Results

Turbo Training Jan 2012.

Kevin Jeffs Personal Best

With just one week of recovery after competing in the Mersey Roads 24hour event, Kevin Jeffs added six miles to his 12 hour personal best with a total of 236.8 miles in the Elmet CRC event near York on Sunday August 7th.  Kevin finshed 15th of 43 riders in the event, which was won by Joel Wainman of Team Swift with 275.44miles.  Kevin will be targetting the event with fresher legs next year, which will also be the 2012 National Championship. Club Championship events are coming up:

 

Note the date for the 25 mile championship – as in previous years the 25 mile is to be held on  SUNDAY 5th June – to avoid dark nights and busy roads.  K10/25B, 10.00am, gather by caravan site Princethorpe B4453.

 

Ladies and Junior 10 mile championship will be held on Wednesday 22 June, K10/10F, 7.30pm, gather at caravan site at Princethorpe B4453.

 

CCC’s Road Race Championship will be at Mallory Park on Tuesday 14th June.

 

'DI COOKE MEMORIAL10' 30th APRIL 2011

The Coventry Cycling Club promoted the Diane Cooke Memorial 10 mile time trial on Saturday 30th April.  There was an excellent entry of 45 ladies, the winner Michelle King posted a time of 22.43 and six ladies from the CCC took part including first open events for Jenny Ollier and Julie Hinds.  Fastest CCC’s Lady was Junior Lauren Humphreys with a time of 27.38, followed by Rita Humphreys, Judy Elson and Sam Griffin. The mens event was won by Jon Simpkins with a 21.01 and a team of 4 CCC’s men were led home by Jon Wood 23.14, Andy Delaney 26.12, Phil Davis 27.24 and congratulations to new CCC’s member Dave Green for taking part in his first open 10 mile TT posting 30.58.  The fastest tandem was Colin Stiles & Dave Overton with 23.12

In a separate event Kevin Jeffs took part in the WCTTCA 50 mile time trial based on the K50/3 course on the A49 at Prees in Shropshire.  He posted a time of 2 hours 12 minutes and 12 seconds and won the event on handicap with a 10.01 improvement.
